Wie man rauslesen kann, geht ihr das krampfhafte Makel-Suchen genauso auf den Keks wie uns. Und da sie zu den Urgesteinen (sozusagen) in der Elton-Fan-Welt gehört, freue ich mich gerade über ihre positive Meinung ungemein, da sie weiß Gott genug Zeit hatte um Material für Vergleiche zu sammeln.

In einem ebenfalls positiven Bericht übers Album steht dieses Zitat von Elton: "A person looks silly trying to do things in his 50s and 60s that he would've done in his teens and 20s. It's unbecoming." Hörst du, Madonna??;) Die positiven Kritiken überwiegen eindeutig (zu recht!); mal sehen, wie sich das Album dann in den Staaten macht. Irgendwo war auch zu lesen, dass, wenn es für The Diving Board keine Grammy-Nominierung fürs beste Album des Jahres gibt, dann einiges sehr, sehr falsch läuft. Ich hab zwar den Eindruck, dass bei den Grammy's US-Künstler eindeutig den Vorzug haben (wie um alles in der Welt kann es sein, dass Elton seinen ersten Mitte der 80er bekommen hat?!), aber vielleicht wird's ja was.
Dankeschön, Honky Cat. :) Ich glaube, die Videos hatten wir irgendwo in diesem Wust von Beiträgen schon mal verbuddelt. Aber kann man eigentlich nicht oft genug sehen.

Die bisher noch "fehlende" Nummer, Gauguin Gone Hollywood. Recht schöne Melodie (und einfach mal von dem hier, 5th Avenue und I Want Love den Anfangstakten lauschen:)) teilweise etwas dick aufgetragen;), aber der Gesang..DIESER GESANG!!!;D
Schnappatmungsalarm!!!!!! Hier gibt's täglich aktualisiert einige CD-Charts, und derzeit ist The Diving Board auf Platz 1 in den USA, und sogar bei uns sieht es mit Platz 18 ja unerwartet gut aus (in den Wochencharts wird's wohl gar Platz 11!)!!!
