Hier wäre der erste Termin im Hollywood Palladium 2.November:
Elton John, Leon Russell to play the Palladium
Last month we learned that two of the greatest piano men in the history of rock -- Elton John and Leon Russell -- have teamed for their first album together, The Union. Produced by T Bone Burnett, whose every high-profile project seems to translate into Grammy gold, the collaboration -- also featuring contributions from Neil Young, Brian Wilson, Booker T. Jones, Robert Randolph and John's longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin -- arrives Oct. 19 from Decca Records.
But now comes something really special: For the first time in decades, John (now 63) and Russell (68, though the number behind his head in the pic is just coincidental) will perform live together, and at a more intimate venue than Sir Elton has played around in years. The two titans of the ivories will appear Nov. 3 at the Hollywood Palladium, playing together as well as separately, with their own bands. (Wonder if any of the album's guest, or at least Burnett, will turn up for this rare gig, too.) Tickets, $99 each (including all service charges and fees), go on sale Friday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets and online, as well as by phone at 877-554-8399. There is a four-ticket limit per person. Photo, from the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Neil Young in January, by Larry Busacca, Getty Images.
hört sich cool an. Aber the first time in decades stimmt ja nicht ganz.
