EXCLUSIVE: The real reason that Elton John is cancelling gigs on his tour I've been hearing persistent rumours about his health for the last fortnight, and now Sir Elton John has cancelled a concert due to ill health, with a spokesman claiming the singer has flu. Elton was due to play Sheffield as part of his 'Red Piano' tour last night, with the rep saying that he was "terribly disappointed" to have to pull out of the gigs, and that he's expected to feel better tomorrow, when he is scheduled to perform at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena. I have been hearing that there's more to this story. A source attached to Elton's camp for a number of years told me last night: "He does have flu, but he's also pretty down. He's been feeling depressed since Stephen Gately died, and varies from talking about it a lot to going down into a complete silence. David (Furnish, his civil partner) has been pretty concerned." I hope Elton starts to feel better soon! Doing a tour at 62 must be really draining, right?????

LIVERPOOL POSTPONED Elton John's concert at the Echo Arena tomorrow (Wednesday 28th October) has been postponed.
Elton's symptoms have not improved significantly enough for Doctors to allow him to perform tomorrow evening in Liverpool, on what would have been the final night of his UK tour.
Das klingt gut..und zwar deswegen, weil Elton jetzt eendlich mal Zeit für sich und David hat und sich gut auskurieren und sich auf die Konzerte in Amerika vorbereiten kann... Hoffentlich ist es nicht allzu schlimm..
Hab mir gestern schon gedacht, dass alle noch anstehenden Red Piano-Konzerte verschoben werden. Sehr das genau so wie Thomas. Allerdings wär mir viel wohler, wenn man endlich was Genaueres über seinen Zustand wissen würde..aber spätestens Anfang November werden wir mehr wissen.

Elton John's concert at the O2, Dublin this Friday 30th October has been postponed.
Elton's symptoms have not improved significantly enough for Doctors to allow him to perform this Friday at the O2 in Dublin.
A spokesman for Elton John said that "He is bitterly disappointed not to playing Dublin, he had picked Dublin to close the Red Piano worldwide, because of the great warmth of the people and the great concerts he had in the city over many years, he is hoping to reschedule the dates in the very near future"
Aiken Promotions are in talks to try and re-schedule the O2, Dublin concert for a suitable and available date in December 2009.
Ticket holders are asked to retain their tickets. Further announcements regarding the replacement dates will be made later
